Native Americans and the Aboriginal cultures are known for communicating with animals. Animal communicators believe that individual animals, just like individual human beings, have their own thoughts about life on this planet. Our ability to communicate with animals opens up whole new possibilities for sharing and learning from wisdom that animals want to give – both during and after their death. In fact, animal communicators help people every day to absolve their grief through rituals such as pet memorials and after death animal communication.

Animal CommunicatorsThe techniques used to communicate with animals are to focus, sense and listen to what an animal would like to share. It is believed that animals communicate their ideas by sending images to us. Animal communicators can assist us with behavioral problems, lost pets, and animals who are sick or dying. Animal communication is also known as interspecies communication or telepathic communication. This is a telepathic method of talking to an animal.

Films like the Horse Whisperer, and Animal Planet's The Pet Psychic television show help us discover how animal communication can help us create more loving and rewarding relationships with our pets. Communicator Carol Gurney, who is touted to be one of the world’s foremost animal communicators, and her HeartTalk Program® has helped thousands of people enhance relationships with their animals. She also trains people in the field, and her book, The Language of Animals, helps people deepen connections with animals.

Animal communicators are sometimes called pet psychics, and they all work in a variety of ways, including in person, at workshops, over the phone or through email. Photos, words or emotions are conveyed from the animal to the communicator, and then interpreted. Animal communicators are in fact, simply facilitators or mediators, helping the communications between man and his animal friends. Pet psychics often know how to find lost animals using intuitive communication, and many communicate with pets after their death.

Animal communicator Hilary Renaissance uses pet psychology to help lost or misbehaving pets learn skills to lead a happier life, and she claims behavior problems or running away can be eliminated or reduced.

On the other hand, Paula Brown's expertise is getting to "The Heart of Conversation." Located in Encinitas, California, she communicates telepathically and energetically (dowsing and chakra work) with animals all over the world, helping to bridge understanding and healing between animals and people. Her new book, "Fur Shui" is being released on April 15th, 2008.

Another intuit is Amelia Kinkade who has written books featuring case histories of numerous clients and her communications for them during illness or during and even after death. She encourages people in her workshops to bring photos of pets - one animal per photo with a clear view of the animals face and eyes. Kinkade talks about why animals are already masters at intuitive and inter-species communication. She also offers techniques, tools and exercises for developing abilities to communicate with animals, and she shares amazing success stories from her students.

One compelling story in Kinkade' s book, The Language of Miracles, (www.ameliakinkade.com) talks about communicating with animals who have died, enabling people to learn how to ask them questions including: Who are you with now? How did you feel about your final days and life on earth?

"I can hear and see departed animals as clearly as I can see and hear animals who are alive," says Kinkade. "Often I don’t even know the difference."

In one of the book's chapters called Open Gates to Heaven, Kinkade talks about the importance of pet memorials, encouraging her students to “transform the pain into love…We can program ourselves when we grant ourselves the power to create our own healing."

Today's animal communicators are helping to bridge the gap between our departed friends as our society begins to treat our pets to the respect they deserve upon their death. The recent growth in the pet memorial industry show evidence of an increase in burials at pet cemeteries worldwide, more purchases of pet portraits and art, and products for rituals in remembering our animal friends upon their death via pet memorial stones, pet caskets, pet urns and memorial dog ornaments -- helping people celebrate, rather than mourn, the lives of our beloved animal friends.
